# CES Trail HUD
**A clean, western-styled HUD for RedM that tells your players where they are, where they're going, and how they're holding up. Fully standalone. One command.**
Know where you are
- Shows the **nearest town or landmark**, its district and state, and how far away it is ("340 yards northeast")
- Compass needle** pointing at the landmark, plus a **heading badge** (N, NE, E…)
- Compass bar** across the top with markers for the nearest landmark and your route
- 19 landmarks included across all five states, with 8 landmark types and icons. Add as many as you like
Waypoints that work
- Mark the map as normal. It stays a real game waypoint**, so the game and your other scripts still see it
- The HUD shows distance and direction** to the waypoint, in the colour each player picks
- Seven route colours: yellow, red, orange, green, blue, purple, white
- Clears itself on arrival
Ride to a landmark
- Searchable list, nearest places first
- Pick one and a coloured GPS route is set
- Shortcut: `/hud denis` routes straight to Saint Denis
Status icons
- - **Health, stamina, and Dead Eye** rings with their real cores
- - **Horse health and stamina** while riding
- - **Hunger and thirst** (or anything else) from your framework with one export
- - Low values pulse red
- - Hides the game's own cores while yours are showing, and gives them back if a player turns yours off
Map frame
- - Round or square frame around the minimap in your HUD colours
- - N, E, S, W letters that turn with the map
- - Nudge and resize it with the arrow keys and + / − until it sits perfectly
One command: `/hud`
No list of commands to remember. `/hud` opens the Trail menu with everything in it:
- Ride to a landmark
- Clear route / waypoint
- Hide or show the HUD
- HUD settings
Number keys work too. Optional shortcuts: `/hud off`, `/hud on`, `/hud clear`, `/hud <place>`.
Every player makes it theirs
- - **Drag** every piece anywhere on screen
- - Size and background opacity sliders
- - Four accent colours: brass, silver, copper, sage
- - Yards & miles or metres & km
- - Turn any part on or off
- - Saved on the player's own PC. Server owners can lock it
For server owners
- - **Fully standalone**: no VORP, no RSG, no framework required
- - Easy `config.lua` (left unencrypted)
- - Exports for your other scripts:
- - `GetNearestLandmark`, `DescribeLocation` ("340 yards northeast of Valentine, Heartlands")
- - `GetHeading`, `GetWaypoint`, `SetRoute`, `ClearRoute`, `SetStatus`
- - Server: `GetPlayerLandmark(source)`, `DescribePlayerLocation(source)`, great for dispatch and alerts
- - Lightweight: updates a few times a second, compass bar smoothed in the UI
